Following the recent Regional Black Members Committee AGM on the 26th September 2025, branches are invited to nominate delegates to occupy any of the vacant seats shown below:
Local Government : 1 Women, 4 Low Paid
Health: 4 Women, 3 Low Paid, 2 General
Higher Education: 2 Women, 1 Low Paid, 2 General
Water: 2 Women, 1 Low Paid, 1 General
Gas: 2 Women, 1 Low Paid, 2 General
Community: 1 Women, 1 Low Paid, 1 General
Branches are limited to nominate only one person in each category. Please do not send in a nomination if your Branch already occupies any of these seats.
Low paid seats are reserved for low paid female members. This applies to those who earn less than £13.56 (current amount) an hour exclusive of any associated allowances.
All nominees are invited to submit an election address of no more than 200 words. The successful nominees for the vacant seats will be decided by the RBMC in line with the Committee’s Constitution.
Please be advised that the Committee meets 4 times a year; this includes a Policy Day, at which the Committee meets to set its plans and priorities for the coming year. The Policy Day meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday 13th November 2025 at UNISON Centre. All those who are accepted as nominees to the Committee will be required to attend these meetings.
