Introduction to UNISON – in person

6 August 2024 5:30pm–6:30pm

UNISON Centre, Euston Road, London, NW1 2AY

There has never been a more important time to protect our members in public services and encourage those that are not members to join a powerful voice. Are you a people person with good listening and problem-solving skills? Do you possess the determination to make a difference to people’s lives?

In these challenging times, protecting our members in public services and encouraging non-members to join a powerful collective voice is more critical than ever. Are you someone who excels in listening, problem-solving, and engaging with people? Do you have the determination to make a meaningful difference in others’ lives?

The Branch Support & Organising Fund Local Organiser is a new and exciting role designed to take Unison’s organising objectives forward across the region.

UNISON is looking for enthusiastic, flexible, and resourceful individuals to support the Greater London Region with a range of organising projects .The first projects will focus on organising and recruitment within NHS employers, with future projects focussed on UNISON’s key priorities.

The Greater London Region prides itself on its diverse membership. In 2023, we celebrated the Year of Black Workers, and this year, UNISON’s priority is the Year of LGBT+ Workers campaign. We aim to represent the entire public sector in our multicultural city and welcome applications from all backgrounds. This ensures our union truly reflects our members, the community, and public sector workers, reaching those who need us most.

We support and encourage applications from Black, Asian and other backgrounds, if you want to find out more, why not come along to one of our drop-in sessions to find out about the role and hear what a typical day looks like in the life of a UNISON Organiser.

We look forward to having you attend the event!
