UNISON’s ‘Bring Them In’ Campaign started early 2019, with the aim of bringing back in house the cleaning, catering and security staff at UCL.

The staff are currently employed by Bidvest Noonan, Sodexo and Ch&Co.

In April 2020, as a result of successful campaigning by UNISON, we achieved almost full parity of terms and conditions for UNISON members, with the exception of pensions and a few specific UCL policies.

The covid19 pandemic highlighted that these outsourced staff were true key workers working tirelessly to keep buildings open in the face of daily danger from the virus.

However, due to lockdown we lost two years of campaigning time and so we have re-launched the campaign with a goal to achieve full parity of terms including pensions, by applying pressure on UCL to bring the outsourced workers back in house.

A rally took place 24th May 2022 to renew this commitment as the recognised union to make these changes happen for these outsourced staff.

The campaign is far from over, and we will not stop until our members achieve full parity of terms.
