Unison Working for Library Workers in Hounslow

Unison were proud to join library workers at their staff seminar in Hounslow House, on Thursday 17th.

Hounslow Unison Libraries Convenor James Marshall, and Local Organiser Ellen Murphy, spent the morning talking to Library staff about the challenges facing them with reduced staff numbers and the outsourcing of library services happening around the country, particularly in Greater London.

Members of staff from across the Civic Centre took time to speak Unison. As always members were delighted to see Unison in their workplace and many members of staff enquired about how to join their Union.

We were joined by Cllr. Katherine Dunne Hounslow Cabinet member for Communities and Workforce, who came along to show her support for Unison’s Public Sector Heroes Campaign. Local service staff support us through all the significant moments in life. Unison have been celebrating Local Service Heroes for the month of October in recognition of the essential work they do year round.
